Dummy City is an experimental documentary exploring a question of memory and identity: what made us who we are today—the facts of the matter, or the memories we invented? A childhood room is reconstructed through fragments: a cabinet crowded with plush toys, a flickering television, and half-remembered sounds and impressions. But the more the film tries to rebuild the room, the more memory reveals itself as invention. What emerges is not a record of the past, but a shifting landscape of association and recollection, with the plush toys becoming traces of a self left behind. The film inhabits the fragile space between remembering and imagining, asking what remains of a place, and of the self, once we can no longer recall how it felt.
